Born and raised in Alexandria, Egypt, Mabro spent his youth studying in
various parts of the world including Lebanon, England, and Canada. He
obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from Loyola College (Montreal) in 1973 and a
Diploma in Education from McGill University in 1975. After a brief stint
in teaching, he left the profession to devote himself entirely to painting.
He then opened his first gallery in 1978.
His paintings today are of nature and urban life. Known mostly for his
large scale city street scenes, Mabro's work captures the nostalgia and
beauty of times past. Through the use of photography, he has managed to
translate images from camera to canvas that have garnered attention from
the layman to the connoisseur.
Mabro currently lives and works in Montreal in the City of Outremont.
